Jewel-Catch of the Season!
May 28, 2014 | No Comments
Well, here I am back on track again after a lovely sabbatical! It was completely filled with jewel-stuff, new experiences & challenges. Challenges are still going on and therefore I’m reading right now many ‘Jewellery Studies’, Scientific research publications of the Society of Jewellery Historians. Of course a direct link to the Society’s website where you can find an overview of all the items (& subjects).
Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam
A true must! The Jewelry Cabinet of the renewed Stedelijk Musuem in Amsterdam. The Cabinet, vast on display, is devoted to t collection of the Francoise van den Bosch Foundation, which is on loan to the Stedelijk Museum. On display amongst others the work of Marion Herbst and recently acquired pieces by Liesbet Bussche and David Roux-Fouillet (see article & video).Until 6 July 2014 the temporary exhibition ‘The Gijs+Emmy Spectacle’, fashion and jewellery design by Gijs Bakker and Emmy van Leersum 1967-1972, is on display! A beautiful overview of their work. A true recommendation!
