European Royal & Aristocracy Jewels

Since my youth it is known to me that the European monarchies have exquisite collections of jewels, but putting them together in this article makes it clear that it’s really dazzling! All those beautiful tiara’s, necklaces, brooches, earrings, rings, regalia etc. made of precious metal and set with sparkling diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds etc. etc. This was by far my most glamorous surfing-trip on the Internet. There’s really so much information about it, that it was impossible for me to check everything. But with my knowledge I have tried to make a careful list of interesting Internet sites, which you see here below. I would also like to add that I was totally surprised about the amount of information about this subject in the Wikipedia, and very well categorized (Crown Jewels of the United-Kingdom, Danish Crown Regalia etc.).
Let’s start by mentioning www.royal-magazin.de . This website, partly written in English as well as in German, gives a wide range of Royal jewels. Jewellery and treasure of Royals and Aristocracy of: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Monaco, The Netherlands, Portugal ,Romania, Spain, Sweden and even Asia, India, Persia, & Russia.
For the British Crown Jewels, please take a look at www.englishmonarchs.co.uk . And when you would like to see the regalia yourself, you’ve got to visit “Tower of London” where they are since 1303. They are displayed in a beautiful way, really impressive. See for more information www.hrp.org.uk .
If you would like to read and enjoy a great book about tiaras I have to recommend to you “Tiaras, A History of Splendour”, by Geoffrey C. Munn. ISBN 1-85149-375-1
