This exhibition will show extraordinary coloured natural diamonds & fancy coloured diamonds created in a laboratory.

The five strongest colours that occur in diamonds are on display; vivid orange-yellow, vivid blue-green, vivid purplish-pink, vivid blue and vivid orange. “Vivid” is the expression used for the highest colour level given by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and indicates colours that display the most saturation. The diamonds of this collection, The Olympia Diamond Collection, are also some of the most saturated colours ever belong in this top tier level.
There are also two types of synthetic diamonds on display; those ones made by the CVD, chemical vapour deposition technique, and ones made by the HPHT, high-pressure high-temperature technique. Examples include cut and uncut synthetic diamonds.

The exhibition is already open. For more information of this exhibition please read the AMNH website article.
